A Doula is like a trail guide. Familiar with the path, she keeps you hiking through the hard parts, knowing the view at the end is incredible.
Throughout the centuries, women have supported women during childbirth. We carry that sacred knowledge and wisdom within ourselves and we have the ability to turn ourselves into a mirror. Your Doula is the mirror of your strength. Your Doula is the bridge. Bridge between you and your baby, you and your partner and you and the medical staff and midwives.
A bridge for you. To remind you how strong you are and to physically support you. To hold space for whatever emotion comes up and to remind you “how great the view at the top” is going to be. To keep a safe, calm and peaceful energy in the room.
A bridge between you and your baby. To remind you that you hard a team! To remind you that your breath is your baby’s breath. To help you feel and see that connection.
A bridge for your partner. To help her/him/them be as involved in the journey as she/he/them want to be. To guide her/him/them to be a support for you.
A bridge with the medical team. To make sure that we all speak the same language and that we are working together for you.
Here’s what working together will look like:
I offer a sliding scale because I truly believe that every woman should have a Doula by her sides during labor and birth.
